The DES child care subsidy process was saved by the recent legislation that applied $18.2M in Federal Recovery Program Funds. But this did not eliminate all of the cuts at DES or in the child care program. 

The co-pay discounts for families with more than one child in care will be discontinued on April 1, 2009.  All children in a family will have the same required co-pay effectively doubling the copay for the additional children.  DES also reduced payments to child care centers by 5 percent for all children. These changes take effect on April 1 and we are working to get information to all of the Sycamore DES families on what their new rates will be.
