Pretty much everyone agrees that our health care system needs attention. It costs too much and does not provide coverage for an ever increasing group of Americans. At The Sycamore School we see people every day who have to decide whether to buy food or buy medicine or who agonize about whether they can really afford to see a doctor.
Legislation has been proposed in Congress to address health care and there is now an intense lobbying effort by every affected group to protect their particular interests. Citizens are attending local town hall meetings to make their views known and to hear from their legislators. Its good news that people are getting involved and speaking up. Hopefully these discussions will result in legislation this Fall which really does make a positive difference.
But how do we make an informed decision? How do we separate the facts from fiction. Some of the many web sites that are trying to answer these questions are provided in the links on the left.
